Article Submission Guidelines

I wrote in my last post Submitting Your Articles, how effective it has been for generating traffic to my sites. After writing that post I decided there are a few things that you need to know before you go submitting loads of articles and also I thought it might help to point you in the right direction of a few of the best directories.

You have to make sure that the articles that you submit to these directories are of good quality and that they are original, do not copy other people’s work and submit it. The guidelines that you need to adhere to are originality, good quality, no less than two hundred and fifty words, preferably more, I try to write around the five hundred mark. Make sure that what you are writing about relates to your sites topic and try and give value to your article, something that makes the reader want to find out more by clicking one of the links to visit your site.

If you stick by these guidelines then you will find that the articles you submit will be accepted, if not your articles may be denied. Most of the article directories do not like you to include links in the body of the article, they should go into the resource box at the end of your article and I always limit them to two links. There are also a lot of the top directories that do not allow a link direct to an affiliate product, so if you want to promote a product then link to an article on your site that is promoting that product.

Probably one of the best article directories is Ezine Articles, if you type in any keyword in the search engines, chances are there will be an ezine article ranked on the first page. Other top directories are Go Articles, Article Alley, Hubpages, Article dashboard, Search Warp and Associated Content. There are many more and if you put in a search for article directories then you will see how many there are, just make sure they have a good page ranking and then they are worthwhile submitting to, I have around five that I stick to and have got great results with them.

Although I have included some basic guidelines above, it is always worth reading through the directories rules on submitting articles, that way you will not waste your time creating an article only for it to get rejected.
